GENIUS Act
A US federal payment-stablecoin framework establishing reserve, disclosure, and supervision rules at the issuer level.
The GENIUS Act (Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for US Stablecoins) creates a federal pathway for payment stablecoin issuers, complementing state regimes (BitLicense, money-transmitter licences). It mandates 1:1 reserves in cash + short-dated Treasuries, prohibits yield, and codifies bankruptcy-remote treatment of reserves. See StableLens's regulatory dimension.
