The UK central bank — supervises sterling payment infrastructure and has set out a stablecoin-regulation framework due 2026.

The BoE has signalled a "systemic stablecoin" regime with prudential oversight comparable to e-money + bank-deposit hybrids. UK-touching stablecoin issuers and exchanges are subject to FCA + BoE coordinated supervision.
